Plan a busy shared track

Set a higher priority for a service you want to take precedence when two services need the same track. To reroute a busy line, open the Line Manager and select a place where the line should pass through.

All services start at normal priority. Lower-priority trains wait at red signals when a higher-priority service takes precedence, while higher-priority trains can reserve track farther ahead.

Signals use path-based reservations: a signal turns green when an approaching train can reserve its intended route up to the next signal.

Questions about routes and signals

How does priority change signal behavior?
When services compete for the same track, a higher-priority service can take precedence and lower-priority trains wait at red signals. Higher priority also extends track reservation distance. A signal turns green when the approaching train can reserve its route up to the next signal.
How do I choose a waypoint for a line?
Open the Line Manager and select the place where the line should pass through. You do not need to construct a waypoint sign first.
